The Lodge at Hocking College

The location of lodge was quiet and peaceful. The hospitality was excellent. My room was clean, nicely furnished, and my bed comfortable. The price was very good too! I’m grateful I found and learned about this student-run lodge! I was very pleased with my stay! I’m now a fan. :)

The hotel was really nice! Clean, comfortable rooms, attentive staff, and delicious breakfast. The location is also convenient - I definitely recommend it for a comfortable stay!

tl;dr: Excellent experience at the Lodge at Hocking College! Had an overnight stay while visiting Athens, and found this hidden gem. This lodge is run by hospitality students at Hocking College, like the nearby Rhapsody restaurant, and I will attest they are on the path to success. The Lodge is easily reached off 33, with only one light to content with on the way. Check-in was easy and the attendant was friendly, cheerful, and helpful. My room was not quite ready, so they quickly assigned me another and I was on my way to meet friends. Coming back late, there were no issues with the keycard access and I found my room easily. The room was on the small side, with an interesting placement of the sink (right inside the entrance), but it was immaculately clean and cozy. Although there were some others staying overnight, I wasn't disturbed once during my sleep. My morning shower was hot and refreshing, with ample towels for use. The continent breakfast consisted of cereals, bars, orange and apple juice, tea and coffee, and packaged muffins. They also had a waffle iron to make your own. Check out with the morning crew was quick and efficient also. Overall, I'll definitely stay here again for future trips to the area. My highest recommendations.

Good location close to Hocking Hills and OU. We booked a standard room but were put in a loft room. It was nice to be upgraded but the stairs were rough for my partner. The room was clean and comfortable. No coffee left in the breakfast area by the time we got there so we went back and made some in our room. We were there on a weekday so it was pretty quiet.

I stopped in with my daughter and Mom after taking my daughter to explore Hocking College. We love visiting state parks and the lodge was just renovated in 2022. The restaurant is great and it views are gorgeous. We took shelter from a thunder storm and ended up joining in on some of their activities. Gracie was the absolute sweetest, we made trail mix with her, bracelets, and then explored the lodge with a scavenger hunt paper she gave us. It was so much fun and we enjoyed it! The service in the dining are was great, we had the garlic cheese curds to start. I had a the southwest black bean burger, my daughter had fettachni alfredo and my mom got the hot honey chicken sandwich. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed our lunch.

Lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are decent size and updated. This is one of the few hotels I’ve been at that I feel comfortable sitting on the furniture. For the price and how nice this place is you can’t go wrong.

We visit here quite a bit. Love the loft rooms! And the outdoor fireplace area is great. Close to everything. Drew at the front desk is super friendly & helpful. Always a joy to talk to.

The rooms are nice and clean. Shower is nice. Beds are comfortable. The pillows are AWFUL : ( My biggest complaint is how thin the walls are. We could clearly hear our neighbors conversations and even when they coughed. The staff is friendly. The lobby is lovely. The breakfast is very limited and not frequently restocked.
